Alli Veneklase was named this week’s Davenport Female Athlete of the Week after she competed at both Hillsdale Gina Relay’s and Aquinas’ Ernie Mousseau Classic this weekend to prep the track and field team for the WHAC Championship.
 
At the Gina Relay’s, she grabbed a fourth place finish in the 400m dash after she set a career best with a time of 58.10. Veneklase capped off the weekend as she won the 800m run at the Ernie Mousseau Classic, where she also set the ‘B’ standard running a 2:16.29 in the event.
 
Veneklase and the track and field teams will stay in Grand Rapids this weekend for the WHAC Championships starting on Friday.
