The volleyball team was so excited after winning its first ever conference match last Thursday that when it showed up against undefeated Indiana Tech tonight, they did not want the celebration to end. That is exactly what happened as the Panthers upset the conference leading Warriors in a thrilling 5-game match.
Davenport took the first game in a tight battle, 30-28, but Tech responded by taking games two and three in demanding fashion (30-15, 30-16). Davenport got knocked down, but got right back up, and took the match to a decisive game five with a 30-25 victory in the 4th game. The Panthers jumped out to an early lead and built it to 10-5 before Tech took a timeout. The Warriors responded by taking the next two points to pull within three, but Davenport held strong and put them away 15-9. The win takes DU to 7-15 on the year and evens their WHAC record at 2-2. They take on national powerhouse Madonna University this Thursday at 7:00 at Northpointe Christian High School.
