Regular Season Comes to Close with 3-0 Defeat

The regular season came to a close tonight as the Panthers dropped a tough 3-game match with Cornerstone University. The loss drops DU to 11-27 on the year and 5-9 in WHAC play and the Panthers quickly realized they will face the same Golden Eagles team on Tuesday, November 6th in the WHAC Quarterfinals. CU earned the #3 seed and Davenport will enter the tournament as the #6 seed. The top two teams earned byes to the Final Four which will be hosted by WHAC Champion Madonna University next weekend.

DU came out strong in the first game, but Cornerstone showed why their record is 35-4 as they used a balanced offense to put away the Panthers attack. Freshman Autumn Williams led the Panthers offense with 8 kills while Sophomore Amanda Schneider posted 7 kills. Freshman Kayla Vandermolen dished out 30 assists and Sophomore Liz Holden had a game high 16 digs. The match on Tuesday will be the 1st ever post-season match in Davenport history and will take place at Cornerstone University's Mol Arena. The game time has not yet been confirmed.
