Fort Wayne, Ind. - The Indiana Tech women's volleyball team continues its rise up the National Rankings as they disposed of the Panthers tonight in three sets, 25-14, 25-20, 25-12. The loss, DU's second straight in WHAC play, drops DU to 6-14 on the year and 0-2 in conference play.
Davenport, which was coming off a tough 5-set loss to Aquinas on Tuesday night, made the long road trip to Fort Wayne and ran into one of the hottest teams in the country. Indiana Techm, ranked #19 in the latest NAIA poll, used a balanced offense and dominating net presence to down the Panthers in straight sets. DU was never able to get anything going their way in set one as the host Warriors cruised to a 25-14 victory.
The second set showed that Davenport is making a push towards the top teams in the conference as they gave Tech everything they could handle before fading late 25-20. The loss in set two put the Panthers in a deep hole and they fell in the third set 25-12.
The loss drops DU to 6-14 on the year and 0-2 in WHAC play. The Panthers will return to action next Tuesday when they travel to UM Dearborn for a matchup with the Wolves. DU will be looking to post its first WHAC win of the season.
