Marion, Ind. - The Panthers traveled to Marion, IN on Friday afternoon to test their skills against one of the top teams from the MCC in Indiana Wesleyan and came away with a dominating 6-2 victory. The win is the second straight to open the season for DU as they will stay in Indiana for a matchup with Taylor University on Saturday.

DU jumped out to a quick lead less than 13 minutes into the game when Efrain Hernandez (Holland, MI) found the back of the net for his second goal in as many games. Just ten minutes later, Elfid Kovacevic (Grandville, MI) began his scoring romp, as he posted the first of his three goals in the game to give DU a 2-0 lead. Davenport would go on to add a goal each from Tony Deakin (Oldham, UK) and David Wood (Middlesborough, UK) before halftime to take a commanding 4-0 lead into the break.

The Panthers attack did not stop there as Kovacevic would add his second goal of the game less than nine minutes into the 2nd half. Indiana Wesleyan, who recently dropped a 2-1 decision to the 4th ranked team in the country, rebounded with two quick goals at the 57:48 and 69:22 marks to close the gap to just three. Elfid then concluded his hat-trick just three minutes later to squash any comeback hopes and DU cruised out the rest of the game for the 6-2 victory

DU improves to 2-0 on the year and will travel to Upland for a matchup with MCC foe Taylor University on Saturday.
