ST LOUIS, Mo. - Marc Thompson recorded his first hat-trick in a Panther uniform as he led DU to an impressive 3-1 win over Colorado State at the ACHA D2 Showcase. Davenport has now won four games in a row and will play Kentucky on Sunday.

Over the last three seasons, the Panthers have dominated ACHA D2 teams (losing only five times to D2 opponents) and Saturday night was no different as the Panthers defeated Colorado State in their first matchup since last year's National Semifinal.

The two teams skated to a scoreless first period but the Panthers held a 17-4 advantage in the shots category and that would pay off in the second period.

Marc Thompson (Traverse City, Mich.) then connected on two goals in the second 20 minutes to give DU a 2-0 lead.

DU added to their lead in the third on Thompson's hat trick goal but then gave up a 5 on 3 goal late for the final outcome of 3-1.

DU is now 4-2 on the year as they will take on Kentucky in the final game of the Showcase hosted by Lindenwood University in St. Louis.
