GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Kassie Graves finished with 14 kills, while Ashley Penny posted 10 on the night and they led DU to a three set (25-15, 25-21, 25-13) win over visiting Concordia on Tuesday night. The Panthers improve to 9-8 on the year and are now 3-2 in league play.

Set one started with Concordia holding an early advantage at 8-6 but DU started to chip away and eventually took the lead for good on a kill from Amy VanEns (Lowell, Mich.). DU would increase its lead to six when Joyce Larioza (Fowlerville, Mich.) put a ball away forcing the Cardinals into a timeout.

The Panthers then ran off six of the final eight points that culminated with a Graves kill to take set one 25-15.

Set two was much closer throughout as the Cardinals jumped out to a quick 14-8 lead. Again though the Panthers hung tough and tied the set at 15 all on a kill from Larioza. After two sideouts, the Panthers took the lead for good on a kill from Graves and eventually won 25-21.

Looking for their first conference sweep of the year, the Panthers started hot in set three and finished with a flurry as they ended the match winning seven of the match's final nine points to win 25-13.

Freshman Kassie Graves (White Cloud, Mich.) finished with 14 kills while hitting at a .250 clip and sophomore Ashley Penny (New Hudson, Mich.) posted 10 kills in the win.

DU will return to the court on Friday in a rare afternoon non-conference affair when they host Goshen College at 3:00 PM.
