WAR International to be Featured on Tuesday at DU Volleyball vs. Cornerstone

7:00 match to feature CU vs. Davenport and all proceeds from night will go to season long frundraiser

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - On Tuesday, October 12 the Davenport women's volleyball team welcomes rival Cornerstone to the Student Center not only for a pivotal WHAC match, but also to highlight a season long fundraiser for Women at Risk (WAR) International.

WAR, Int'l unites and educates women to create circles of protection and hope around women at risk through culturally sensitive, value-added intervention projects. It is now represented in all 50 states and expanding into new countries as additional projects and partnerships are being formed. WAR, Int'l now reaches 14 different risks including domestic violence, depression, loss, disease, exploitation, and more.

You can participate in our “Take a Load Off” change drive or you can purchase a t-shirt for $10 for our “Battle of the Beltline” on Oct. 12 vs. Cornerstone. We will also have beautiful hand-made products from the WAR Chest Boutique on sale Oct. 12. All proceeds will go directly to WAR Int'l. Thanks for your support!

The women's volleyball team is currently 13-10 on the year and is 5-5 in league play. Cornerstone enters at 9-16 overall and 3-6 in the WHAC. The game will be aired live on the DAN and will also be available through live stats.
