LIVONIA, Mich. – Davenport University opened up WHAC play today on the road at Madonna University. The Panthers used a second period goal to give them their first conference victory and improve to 8-5-0 overall.
Davenport controlled the ball most of the first period but could not get a goal past the Crusader defense. DU would outshoot Madonna 10-5 and have six corner kicks compared to their one in the period.
The Panthers would continue to put pressure on the Madonna defense in the second period. At the 55:56 mark in the game
Jesse Asanin-Miroux (Thornhill, Ontario) would take a ride side pass from
Alex Boehm (Stevensville, Mich) and place it in the net to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead.
Asanin-Miroux's goal would end up being the game winner and goalie
Kevin O'Brien (Cork, Ireland)would earn his eight victory and fifth shutout of the year in net for DU.
