Davenport Partners with Stretch Internet to Launch Game Central on the DAN

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Starting in the fall of 2010, Davenport's 25 sports teams will now be accessible through live audio, live video, live chat and live stats thanks to a Game Central partnership with Stretch Internet.  Many of your favorite teams will be covered live on the DAN that began with the Panther Insider Coaches Show on Monday, August 23 live from the Davenport University Scholarship Golf Classic.

Stretch Internet's GameCentral portal is included with every streaming account and provides a first-of-its-kind media player interface that combines high-quality video and optional live stats and live chat in a custom-branded portal.

New in 2010-2011 – Live Stats and Live Chat
LIVE STATS

Most fans don't want to have to deal with two interfaces - one for live stats and another for live video or audio. Now, they don't have to. “GameCentral” displays DU's live game data and stats in a beautiful interface... and right next to the DAN audio stream.

LIVE CHAT
Davenport will also make home games and certain away games a truly interactive experience as there will be live chat for certain events. Users can quickly register for an account and then chat away with other fans.

The DAN – Live Audio

The Davenport Athletics Network will continue to provide coverage of over 125 Panther athletic contests in 2010-2011.  After its inception during last season, the DAN was able to travel with many teams as well as feature almost every home hockey and basketball game and numerous others including rugby, soccer, volleyball, baseball and softball. Be sure to check each of your favorite team's schedule pages for the icon signifying if it will be covered on the DAN.  If you can't listen live, be sure to download the archive of each and every one of your favorite team's games.

Accessing Game Central

To access “Game Central”, you can either click on the DAN log on the main page of the website or click on the side banner labeled “Game Central”.  It will then take you to the portal where you can access whichever games you would like.  If you want to chat during the game with the other “listeners or viewers” then you will need to sign up and register with your own username.

If you have any questions on the DAN or Game Central, please contact DU Sports Information Director Aaron Sagraves by email at asagraves@Davenport.edu or by phone at 616-554-5045.
