UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - In their final game before the conference schedule, Davenport fell victim to a penalty kick in overtime as they fell 3-2 to the Cardinals of Saginaw Valley State.  DU will bring a 7-5-0 mark into WHAC play next Saturday at Madonna.

The Panthers got started quickly once again on Saturday as senior Alex Boehm (Stevensville, Mich) scored in the opening ten minutes of the game on a pass from Gerard John-Williams (Arima, Trinidad & Tobago).  The lead would not last too long though as Saginaw Valley scored to tie the game and send it into the break knotted at 1-1.

The host Cardinals then struck first in the second half to take their first lead of the game at 2-1 but it would only last until the final ten minutes of the game when DU got the equalizer from Jordan Richards (Northampton, England) on an assist from Michael Ricketts (Tamworth, England).

The two teams then headed to overtime where the Cardinals got a break in the DU box and got to take a penalty kick.  The Cardinal player beat DU keeper Kevin O'Brien (Cork, Ireland) as Saginaw escaped with the 3-2 win.

Davenport is now 7-5-0 on the year and will start league play next Saturday at Madonna University.  Game time is set for 2:30 PM in Livonia.
