GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The latest version of the NAIA Top-25 Poll for Division II basketball has the Davenport women atop the rankings for the second consecutive week while the men's team moved up two spots to #14. Both teams take on rival Cornerstone on Wednesday.

No. 1 Davenport maintains a grip on the top spot of the NAIA Division II Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the NAIA announced Monday. For the second-straight week, the undefeated Lady Panthers were a unanimous selection, collecting all 15 possible first-place votes and tallying 405 points. Northwestern (Iowa) grabbed a top-five win and holds steady at No. 2 with 392 points. With 377 points, Sioux Falls (S.D.) slides up into the No. 3 spot. Rounding out the top five is No. 4 Morningside (Iowa) with 367 points, along with Saint Francis (Ind.) and Black Hills State (S.D.) tied at No. 5 with 342 points each.

Since taking over at No. 1 in the Jan. 10 poll, the top-ranked Lady Panthers have ran away with two blowout victories over WHAC opponents Northwestern Ohio and Aquinas. Davenport (21-0, 7-0 WHAC) has been led by All-American Kallie Benike (Campbellsport, Wis.) who posted averages of 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists last week in the team's two wins despite only playing an average of 23.5 minutes.

The #1 ranked Lady Panthers will look to continue their 21 game winning streak when they welcome in #14 ranked Cornerstone University on Wednesday at 6:00pm.  The Golden Eagles are two games behind the Lady Panthers in the league standings and come in with an overall record of 16-4 (5-2 WHAC).

On the men's side, the 18-3 Panthers moved up two spots to #14 in the poll while garnering 259 votes. Davenport continued its hot streak as of late with two victories over Northwestern Ohio (76-68) and Aquinas (78-62). The pair of wins helped DU to their fifth and sixth straight victories respectively while moving into a tie for second place in the league standings.

#14 Davenport will head to #6 Cornerstone on Wednesday at 8:00pm for a pivotal WHAC contest that with a win would vault the Panthers into the top spot along with the Golden Eagles and Warriors of Indiana Tech.  Senior Nathan Cox (Flushing, Mich.) led Davenport with games of 25 and 27 last week despite playing limited minutes against the Saints due to an ankle injury.
