GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In a rematch of last season National Championship game, #9 Davenport fell to #2 Lindenwood 3-1. Davenport jumped out to a 1-0 lead but three straight goals to close out the first period for Lindenwood proved to be too much for the Panthers to overcome. Davenport and Lindenwood will be in action again tomorrow night at 7:30.
Prior to the start of the game, members of last years National Championship team received their Championship rings and Davenport unveiled the Championship banner.
Paul Lowden was also honored.
Davenport used the pregame excitement and the large crowd to their advantage staring the first, getting a quick goal on a slap shot by
Ben Dykstra from near the blue line. But the lead wouldn't last long as Lindenwood came right back scoring about 30 seconds later to tie the game at 1-1.
