GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - In Great Lakes 6 action over the last two days, it was No. 10 Adrian taking a pair of games against No. 17 Davenport as the calendar turns over into November. The Panthers have slipped to 10-5 overall and 2-2 in the conference, when the Bulldogs extended their win streak over the Panthers to 24 games.

The first installment was on Thursday evening at Arrington Ice Arena in Adrian with the Bulldogs claiming the 3-1 victory. Adrian came out strong in the opening minutes and scored a pair of goals by Carson Brown (4:44) and Matteo Turrin (7:07). The Panthers were able to calm down the pace and limit the scoring opportunities over the rest of the contest to keep things close.

Davenport got their lone goal at 19:06 of the first period as Matt Carlson scored his ninth of the season from Jake Alton and Zach Schneider. The scoring stopped from that point into the late stages of the third period. Adrian got the insurance goal at 15:52 of the final stanza as Blake Wideman scored his sixth of the season from Cale Strasky and Luke Marley. Adrian held a 32-18 shots on goal advantage and both teams went 0-for-3 on the power play. Kyler Lowden was able to stop 29 shots between the pipes.

Friday night's game took place at Patterson Ice Center and the Bulldogs stormed out to a 5-0 lead in the first period. Lowden was tested often in the first period as Adrian peppered him with 21 shots and he made 16 saves. Paul Jarvis finished the game and made 18 saves in the final 40 minutes. Hunter Allen scored the first two goals for Adrian to push his season total to six. Marley, Dylan Gajewski, and Brown also scored in the first period and all five goals came at even strength.

The Panthers notched the first two goals of the second period as Jack Kelly registered his ninth goal of the season just 29 seconds into the period from Schneider and Alton. Carlson reached double-digit goals (10) for the season at the 16:44 mark from Luke Mikkola. The game's final goal was by Caleb Minns of the Bulldogs at 19:14 of the second period. AC had 12 shots compared to eight for Davenport in the third period, but no one could find the back of the net. Neither team could score on the power play in either game as DU went 0-for-5 and AC went 0-for-4 on Friday.

DU will turn the page, but the schedule doesn't get much easier as they will square off with No. 16 Purdue Northwest (9-1) on Thursday, Nov. 12 in Hammond, Indiana and then return home on Nov. 14 to complete the weekend series with the Lions.
