Team is prepping for competitive season from January-March

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The Davenport cheer team is off to a great start for the 2011-12 season as they came into the year with a Gold Bid to the national championships earned at the summer camp in Louisville.

With competitive season around the corner for the Davenport University Cheerleading team, the girls are filled with nothing but excitement for the future. As they prepare for nationals, they will compete in some all-star and collegiate competitions in January through March to get a feel of what competing in the NCA Collegiate Nationals will be like in Daytona, FL this coming April.

Summer Camp Recap - The Davenport University Cheerleading team traveled to The University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky this summer for NCA cheer camp. At camp, they competed against several other teams for a chance to win a gold paid bid to nationals. Four gold paid bids were given out at camp and they are given out according to teams with the highest number of points. Points are awarded at camp by winning one or more Blue Superior ribbons, winning game day championship, rally championship, most collegiate, and most spirited are some examples. The DU cheer team went up against other Division I and Division II all girl and coed cheer teams.  The competition was strong, but the panthers proved that they had what it takes to earn the gold bid!

The Davenport University Cheerleading team left Kentucky with a few different titles this year.
·         2nd place in the Game Day championship after camp runoff
·         1st place in the Rally championship
·          Best all around team
·         GOLD PAID BID TO NATINOALS!
