YPSILANTI, Mich. - After completing their first regular season of ACHA Division 1 action, the Panthers are now gearing up for this weekend's GLCHL playoffs hosted by Eastern Michigan University. Davenport is the No. 2 seed behind front-runner Adrian and will receive a first round bye to Saturday's semifinals.

The GLCHL playoffs start Friday Feb. 18 at The Peak at Summit Academy in Romulus, MI. Davenport is the No. 2 seed in the playoffs and will not play their first game until Saturday. Depending on the Friday results determine when and who DU will play Saturday. If Oakland wins Friday night over host EMU, the Panthers will take on the Grizzles for the fifth time this season at 7:30 p.m.

However, if Oakland loses DU would play the winner of Friday night's matchup between Western Michigan and UM-Dearborn at 4:30 p.m.

The games Friday are No. 4 WMU vs. No. 5 UM-Dearborn, and No. 3 Oakland against EMU. Adrian is the No. 1 seed with DU No. 2.

The DU Panthers have also clinched a spot in the Men's Division 1 National Tournament after claiming the No. 2 spot in the Division 1 Rankings. This is DU's first appearance in the D1 tournament after winning the D2 National Championship three straight years.

The Division 1 National Tournament is being hosted by the University of Delaware in Newark, Del. at the Fred Rust and Gold Arenas from March 5-9.

Sixteen teams will compete for the National Championship. The 16 teams are Lindenwood, Davenport, Ohio, Adrian, Delaware, Minot State, Rhode Island, Arizona State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Oakland, Robert Morris Illinois, Stony Brook, Canton, Slippery Rock and Rutgers.

Three GLCHL teams will represent the conference in the National Tournament: DU, Adrian and Oakland.

The Panthers first game is against No. 15 Rutgers March 5 at 1:00 p.m. in Rust Arena.
