GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The 2011 Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) basketball tournaments kick off this week as the Davenport women will be the No. 1 seed while the men will be the No. 2 seed. All games will be featured live on Game Central with Video and Audio as well as Live Stats.
The Davenport men, fresh off a 98-95 2OT win over No. 3 Cornerstone, will enter for the third straight year as the second seed. The Panthers will host UM-Dearborn, the seventh seed, in the quarterfinals on Thursday, February 24 at 7:30pm. Davenport won both meetings this year (87-60 on 12/1 and 83-74 on 1/22).
The DU Lady Panthers, who completed a 30-0 regular season with a six point win over Cornerstone on Saturday, will again be the No. 1 seed in the tourney for the fifth straight year and will host No. 8 seed Aquinas College on Wednesday, February 23 at 7:30pm. Davenport defeated the Wolves in both matchups (84-59 on 1/15 and 83-62 on 2/16).
