GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Playing at home for the third straight Wednesday, the Lady Panthers rallied after losing the first set of the match to post a 3-1 victory (23-25, 25-18, 25-7, 25-18). DU finished with a .231 hitting percentage and 49 kills to improve to 8-5 overall and 3-0 at home.

Kassie Graves unable to play due to injury the DU offense had to rely heavily on Junior
Brittany Bott and Freshman
Hannah Stone. Both stepped up to the challenge. Hannah posted a .545 hitting percentage with 14 kills while Brittany was right behind her with 13 kills and a .281 hitting percentage.
With DU dropping the first set 23-25, Megan Garner regrouped her team and saw them put together a 25-18 victory in set two. The Panthers then posted an impressive 25-7 third set as the momentum shifted to the DU bench.
After back and forth points in set four, DU was able to maintain a steady lead and seal a 25-18 victory in route to their third straight win at home.
Freshman setters
Lexie Spetoskey and
Amber Getty totaled 41 assists as Davenport outhit the Hawks .231-.082.
Kelse Moon and
Courtney DePriest posted double digits in the digs category with Stone picking up five of DU's 12 total blocks.
Next up for the Panthers is WHAC foe and cross-town rival Cornerstone. DU will travel across town to face the Golden Eagles on Friday in a non-conference match slated to begin at 6:00pm. Live stats will be available.

Hannah on – recovering from 1st set loss – “We really focus on our passing in the next three sets and making sure we were hitting the right spots”
Hannah on – increase of her confidence as a freshman – “It always takes time to adjust to playing with new faces on the volleyball court. I feel like I am getting use to my teammate's style of play and they have really accepted me which helps as well.”
Megan on – preparing for Cornerstone on Friday – “This week in practice we have really been focusing on increasing our tempo in matches and also breaking down film against our opponents. Kassie will also be back on the court Friday which will really help our unity and overall flow on the court.”
