JaVontae Ford led all scorers with a game high 23 points as he tied his own Student Center record by knocking down six three-pointers.  The red-shirt sophomore was joined in double-figures by Humphrey and senior Damacious White who nailed three shots from behind the arc in route to his 18 points.

The three-point shot carried both teams throughout the day but two early deep balls by the Crusaders gave them a 6-2 lead.  A long ball by James Nelson on the next possession ignited a 17-4 run over the next 6:16 to put the Panthers up 19-10.  In the middle of the run was a block by James Humphrey and an emphatic alley-oop dunk off the pass from Lonnie Fairfax. Davenport built their lead to as many as 12 (29-17) but the Crusaders, ranked No. 21, finished the half on a 16-7 run to trail by only three at 36-33.

A early 11-7 spurt in the second finished off by a three-pointer from Damacious White at the 13:57 mark extended DU's lead to nine points and the margin would go no lower than eight and no higher than 13 for the remainder of the game.  Davenport limited the Crusaders to 43% shooting while forcing them into 14 turnovers.

Post-Game Quotes - Head Coach Burt Paddock and Damacious White

Paddock on getting back on track late in half: “We have had a problem with that this year as we go on a run and then let them back in…We need to work on that and find a way and do a better job of coaching in getting subs in and out when they need a break.”

White on first game at home in over a month “I felt we were very focused and once we got calmed down we started to play very well and get into a groove…Once we started to play the way coach wanted us to we really started to click”
