LIVONIA, Mich. – Davenport will bring their 13 match winning streak into the Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Tournament this weekend as the No. 2 seeded Panthers open Friday against No. 7 Lourdes. DU, who is 30-5 on the season, will face the 14-17 Gray Wolves in hopes of advancing to Saturday's semifinals as all matches are being played at Madonna University who won the regular season title thanks to a 10-1 mark. Davenport and Lourdes is the third match of the day and the first serve is slated for 4:45 in the Activities Center in Livonia.
Davenport, owners of the longest current winning streak in the conference, begins their second season on Friday with hopes of making it to the NAIA National Tournament with their first ever conference tournament crown. Head coach
Megan Lenhart and her Lady Panthers will face the Lourdes Gray Wolves in the third of four quarterfinal matches that will be played on Friday on the campus of Madonna University. The winner of the DU-LU match will face the winner of Indiana Tech/Aquinas on Saturday at 12:30pm with the finals slated for 6:00pm.

Davenport and Lourdes will meet for the second time in the last two weeks as they tangled down in Ohio on Halloween night with the Gray Wolves pushing Davenport to a 4th set but the Panthers were too tough claiming the victory 22-25, 25-19, 26-24, 25-19. Davenport holds a 4-0 all-time record against Lourdes with the Panthers holding a 2-0 mark at neutral sites. Lourdes got to the quarterfinal round thanks to a 3-1 win over #10 Concordia and they are led by head coach Greg Reitz who is in his third year at the helm and he looks to leading attacker Katie McKenty who has 370 kills and that is over double the next person for the team.
