LIVONIA, Mich. – Davenport made quick work of their semifinal match against Lourdes University on Friday night as they downed the Gray Wolves in straight sets 25-19, 25-13, 25-18. The Panthers' fourteenth consecutive victory lifts them into Saturday's semifinal round in the tournament that is being hosted by Madonna University. Davenport will meet Indiana Tech who defeated Aquinas on Friday in one of two semifinal matches at 12:30pm on Saturday.

Nicole Chase continued her outstanding play at the net as the junior led Davenport with 11 kills and she did it by hitting .556 on the night. Five additional players posted at least six kills as Davenport hit .357 for the match which is their second highest total of the 2012 season.

Davenport and Lourdes met for the second time in nine days as the Panthers posted a 3-1 win over the Gray Wolves last Wednesday in Ohio. Friday was a much different outcome as DU jumped out early in each set and cruised to the three-set win. DU led 10-3 in the opener only to see Lourdes come back and get within two at 21-19 before the Panthers ran off the final four points for the win.

DU again raced out to a 10-4 lead in the second on a kill from Nicole Chase and upped their lead to as many as 12 (24-11) before closing out the Gray Wolves 25-13. An 8-1 start in the third set was more than enough to improve the Panthers to 5-0 all-time against Lourdes.

Hannah Stone and Marcey DeHaan each finished with eight kills as Amber Getty dished out 35 assists in the win. Davenport was led on defense by Sidney Rodriguez' 14 digs while Stone and Chase posted three assist blocks each. The Panthers will play in Saturday's second semifinal match slated to begin at 12:30pm in the Activities Center on the campus of Madonna University.
