THE TEAMS: #7 Davenport (16-6-0-1/12-2-0-1 GLCHL) vs. #2 Adrian (16-1-1/12-0-1 GLCHL)

THREE GAME WEEK: Davenport starts the week with their final game of the regular season against the Adrian Bulldogs. The Panthers won the first game between these two teams at Adrian but have dropped the last two games. Davenport will travel to #9 Lindenwood this weekend to take on the Lions in St. Charles, Mo.
PANTHERS VERSUS BULLDOGS: Davenport is 9-7 all-time against Adrian and 5-3 all-time against the Bulldogs at home. But the Panthers have won one of the three games against Adrian this season. In their only win in the season series, Davenport rallied from a 3-1 deficit late in the third period to tie the game and then won it on a
Tyler Quigley goal with 59.1 seconds left in overtime. Davenport struggled in the two ensuing games falling 6-2 (EN) at home and then dropping a 7-2 decision at Adrian right before Thanksgiving.
WEEKEND RECAP: Thursday, Nov. 29 – In the third and final game of the Blue/Gray Cup, Davenport fell to Liberty 5-3 (EN). The Panthers grabbed the early lead but three unanswered goals by Liberty put the Flames up 3-1. Liberty then scored a minute into the third period to retake the lead after Davenport had come back to tie the game at three. – Friday, Nov. 30 – At UM-Dearborn, the Panthers and Wolves went back and forth in the first two period that saw the lead change three times. Davenport broke the game open in the third period with four goals to take home a 8-4 victory. – Saturday, Dec. 1 – Davenport completed the weekend sweep of Dearborn with a 9-4 drubbing on Saturday. Trailing 2-1 after the first period, the Panthers scored seven goals in the second to pull ahead 8-4. The Panthers added a goal early in the third to increase the lead to five.
TOUGH STRETCH FOR DU: Davenport continues one of their tougher stretches of the season. After hosting #2 Adrian on Tuesday night the Panthers will travel to St. Charles, Mo. this weekend to take on #9 Lindenwood in a pair of games. Davenport wraps up play before the Christmas break with a home-and-home series against one of the best ACHA DII programs and cross-town rival Grand Valley State on December 14
th and 15
th.
SCOUTING ADRIAN: When Davenport takes the ice Tuesday night they will be going against an Adrian team that they are very familiar with as the two teams have produced a number of physical and highly contested games over the past few years as this rivalry has grown. The Panthers will have to try to contain Senate Patton and what have been the killer B's in order for Davenport to come out on top. Patton leads Adrian in goal (22), assists (25), and points (47). He has recorded three goals and three assists against the Panthers this season. The quartet of Spencer Bonomo (33 points), Robert Bodette (32 points), Logan Blackwell (26 points), and Ryan Bachman (16 points) have combined for 8 goals and 9 assists in the three games against the Panthers. Bonomo, Bodette, and Blackwell rank 2
nd, 3
rd, and 4
th on the team in points with all three posting double-digit goal numbers. Blackwell has posted three goals and three assists and Bodette has tallied two goals and four assists against Davenport this season. Davenport has seen both Adrian goalies this season. In the first and third games, Matt Anderson was in net for the bulldogs and posted combined numbers of six goals allowed (including one in overtime) in just over 124 minutes of play. He has made 42 saves in those games posting a 1-0-1 record. Louis Ronayne got the start in the second game and picked up the win allowing two goals and making 24 saves for the Bulldogs. Adrian is currently on a 10 game win streak with their last loss coming against the Panthers in overtime.
RANKINGS UPDATE: Davenport entered the season ranked 12th in the ACHA D1 Preseason rankings and after dropping one spot in the third rankings the Panthers have climbed their way in to the top-10 coming in at 7th this past weeks.
