2nd Period Continues to Haunt DU as GLCHL Hopes on Thin Ice; Adrian Defeats DU 4-1

Davenport and Oakland came into game "tied" in loss column...but now OU holds one game edge with two to play

ADRIAN, Mich. - Four unanswered goals by host Adrian, all in the second period, was more than enough to post a 4-1 victory over Davenport on Thursday night. The loss puts the GLCHL regular season title hopes on thin ice with two games remaining against Western Michigan this weekend.

Davenport entered the Thursday night meeting with Adrian hoping to not only post a season sweep of the Bulldogs, but keep pace with Oakland who the Panthers were tied with in the loss column.  Tonight's loss puts the Panthers in a one game hole to the Grizzlies as OU plays a pair against Adrian and DU plays a home and home against Western Michigan.

Davenport got on the board in the opening period as seniors Jeff Slusser and Ben Dykstra connected to put the Panthers up 1-0 on the goal by Slusser.  DU went into the first intermission leading 1-0.

Unfortunately that would be the final tally for DU as Adrian posted four unanswered goals, all in the second period, to come away with the win.  Phil Graveline finished with the loss in net.

Davenport will travel to Western Michigan on Friday and then host the Stallions on Saturday for senior night at 7:30pm.
