WHAC play resumes with a pair of matches Wednesday and Friday

Weekly Notes | Live Broadcast vs. Siena Heights

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The women's volleyball team will resume conference play this week with a pair of matches as they host Siena Heights on Wednesday before traveling to Dearborn on Friday. Both matches are scheduled for 7:00pm starts.  Head coach Megan Lenhart has guided her team to an 11-3 overall start as they picked up three wins last week including a 3-0 win over Lawrence Tech in their WHAC opener.

The Panthers have long winning streaks against each of their opponents this week as they have defeated the Saints nine straight times and the Wolves seven straight. DU will get through a bulk of their WHAC schedule as they will play seven of their next 10 matches in league action as the only three out of conference are Goshen, Huntington and Purdue North Central. The offense was firing on all cylinders last week as the team posted its highest hitting percentage in a match in Saturday's 3-1 win over Judson

Scouting Siena Heights
Siena Heights is currently tied with 6 others atop the league standings at 1-0 with a win over UM-Dearborn in their WHAC opener last Wednesday. The Saints are led on offense by Halie Baker with 153 kills while Lindsey Adams has 143 kills.  Adams made last year's All-WHAC Honorable Mention Team and also was named co-WHAC Freshman of the Year.

A Look at UM-Dearborn
UM-Dearborn has an overall record of 10-3 but is 0-1 in the league after losing to Siena Heights last week in their WHAC opener. The Wolves are paced on the offensive side of the net by West Michigan native Tiffany Brufladt who attended Fruitport High School. Brufladt earned Honorable Mention All-WHAC honors a year ago and she is currently tops on the team with 99 kills and is hitting at a .209 clip.

Davenport will resume play next week when they host Concordia University on Wednesday before heading down to Indiana for three matches with Goshen, Huntington and Purdue-North Central.
