Davenport, which started its volleyball program in 2006, hit 100 wins this past weekend

Weekly Notes | Live Broadcast of Concordia Match

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Last weekend, the Davenport University volleyball program hit a significant milestone in their short 7-year history as they reached 100 wins.  The 3-0 sweep of conference foe UM-Dearborn pushed DU to the mark and also raised their overall season record to 13-3 as they head into a four match week including a WHAC home contest against Concordia on Wednesday night in which the team will honor faculty and staff before the start.

With their 3-0 win over UM-Dearborn on Friday, Davenport now has 100 wins in their program history and the Panthers kept pace in the tight Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) race that has five teams left undefeated. The offense continues to fire on all cylinders as the Panthers posted their best team hitting percentage (.398) of the season in the win over the Wolves

Previewing Concordia (Wednesday, 7:00pm at home)
Davenport will look to break a school record for consecutive wins (7) as they host Concordia University on Wednesday. The Panthers have won their last 7 meetings with the Cardinals as CUAA comes in with an overall record of 10-13 but just 0-3 in league action. Concordia has been led offensively by Ashley Maynard (177 kills) and Kayne Molosky (142 kills). Adrienna Kanitz leads the way with 612 assists while Shannon Pietruszka is tops with 327 digs.

Davenport then will take a trip to Indiana to face two schools from the Crossroads League in Goshen and Huntington while also getting a match in against Purdue North Central. The trip to Indiana marks the second straight year DU will play at Goshen and against Huntington and Purdue NC - Last year, DU went 3-0

Inside Goshen (Friday, 7:00pm at GC)
The Maple Leafs are a familiar foe for Davenport over the last few years as DU trails in the all-time series 3-1 with their lone win coming in 2011. Goshen is currently 7-11 on the year and 3-6 in league play. Head coach Jim Routhier and his Maple Leafs are led offensively by Jamie Stack with 158 kills. The Leafs are very balanced on offense much like the Panthers as four players have over 100 kills.

Scouting Purdue North Central (Saturday, 11:00am at Huntington)
Purdue North Central is under the direction of first year head coach Brian Erminger and Davenport defeated the Panthers 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-12) in a match played at Huntington. The Panthers are currently 4-13 on the season and winless in conference play as they play in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC). Vickie Flanders leads the team in kills with 136 while she is joined in triple digits by Jamie Lowther with 120.

A look at Huntington (Saturday, 1:00pm at HU)
Head coach Megan Lenhart will meet her former college coach (Amy Settle at Cornerstone) as she is in her first year as head coach for Huntington University. Huntington has struggled so far this season as they have posted only one win, but did take Top-25 Taylor to four sets their last time out. The Foresters have played a very difficult schedule so far in 2012 with three Top-25 matchups including undefeated Indiana-East.
