GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The road trip to start the year continues this weekend as head men's soccer coach
Chris Hughes will lead his squad into the state of Ohio to take part in the First-Knox Invitational hosted by Mount Vernon Nazarene University. DU has traveled to Alabama and Illinois already this season and enters their matchups against Judson and Olivet Nazarene with an overall record of 1-3-0.
A quick look at Judson University (Ill.)
Davenport is 0-1-0 all-time against the Eagles after dropping a 2-1 setback in the fall of 2010 at Judson. The Eagles are a member of the CCAC (Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference) and are currently 2-2-0 on the season. The team is led by Santiago Nunez and Walter Lopez who have each recorded a pair of goals in 2012.
A quick look at Olivet Nazarene (Ill.)
The all-time series with the Tigers is tied at 1-1 with the Panthers winning their last matchup in 2012 by the score of 2-1. Currently, Olivet Nazarene is 1-1 on the season with a win over Montreat and a setback to nationally ranked Lee (Tenn.). Three different players have scored one goal each for the Tigers who are anchored by their goalkeeper Zach Chambers.
Home Opening Win for Davenport on 9/1
After hitting the road for their first two contests of 2012, the Panthers found themselves in search of their first win and they got it in their home opener against Mt. Vernon Nazarene University 3-1.

Davenport will be in action next on Tuesday, September 18 when they begin a 4-match home stretch. The first opponent is CCAC foe Illinois Tech and the next three will be league matchups beginning with Indiana Tech on Saturday, September 22.
