Davenport will play their first home game since picking up a 70-52 win over then No. 18 Indiana Tech and they will welcome their second straight opponent from the state of Ohio in the Racers of Northwestern Ohio. DU won the first meeting 79-67 back in late November and the Panthers have won all five meetings in the series. UNOH comes in with an overall record of 11-9.
Scouting UNOH – 11-9, 7-6 WHAC – Head coach Chris Adams
The Racers have been an up and down team all season as they started the year just 2-5 only to win six of their next seven. Since then, they are .500 including going 1-1 last week with a home win over Cornerstone and road loss at Siena Heights. UNOH is just 3-7 away from the friendly confines of “The Garage” with their last win coming on January 2 at Concordia. The Racers have been led all season by Derrick Tate who is averaging 16.5 points per game. He is one of three in double-figures for UNOH as Johnny Elliott and Blake Bush average 13.3 and 12.0 respectively. Josh Scott leads the team with 73 assists and is third with 26 steals. UNOH will be back in action on Saturday when they host Lawrence Tech.
Davenport enters on a three game winning streak after defeating Lourdes in Sylvania on Saturday night.
JaVontae Ford has led the Panthers in scoring in the last two games as the red-shirt junior averaged 20 points per game last week in a pair of DU wins. The Panthers resume action on Saturday when they travel across town to rival Cornerstone for a 3:00pm tip.
