GEORGETOWN, Ky. – The Davenport Volleyball team finished their final road trip of the regular season with a 2-2 mark at the Bone Yard Brawl hosted by Georgetown College this weekend. DU fell in a 5-set thriller to Viterbo in the morning before defeating No. 13 ranked Bellevue University (Neb.) to finish the day with a split. The Panthers are now 26-9 with five more regular season matches remaining all of which come at home beginning Wednesday when they host Lourdes in a WHAC matchup at 7 p.m.

Match 1 - #RV Viterbo 3, #23 Davenport 2 (25-14, 25-19, 32-34, 22-25, 12-15)

In their second meeting of the season, the V-Hawks overcame a 2-0 deficit to come back and defeat the Panthers 3-2. DU raced out to a convincing 25-14 win in the opener and followed it with a 25-19 win to take a commanding 2-0 lead. With a sweep in their sites, DU was unable to close it out as Viterbo took the longest set of the year for DU with a dramatic 34-32 win and then rallied for a 25-22, 15-12 victory in the final two to complete the comeback.

Marcey DeHaan led the attack for Davenport as the sophomore finished with 14 kills while Nicole Chase and Olivia DenHartigh were just behind her with 11 each. Amber Getty had 42 assists and 16 digs while Lexie Spetoskey was the main defender with 23 digs

Match 2 - #23 Davenport 3, #13 Bellevue 1 (25-19, 23-25, 26-24, 25-23)
Looking to finish their weekend with a .500 record, Davenport came out hot for the second straight match and picked up an opening set win 25-19 over the Bruins who were 2-0 over the weekend entering the match including a win over No. 10 Embry Riddle earlier in the weekend.

The Bruins recovered to even the match at one set a piece with a close 25-23 win in the second but DU responded with a pair of their own 2-point set wins 26-24, 25-23 to close out the upset win.

Hannah Stone led Davenport with 15 kills as the junior posted them while hitting at a .444 clip. Marcey DeHaan continued her outstanding day as she finished with 12 kills to bring her total to 26 on the day and Amber Getty had 39 assists to go along with 10 digs for her second double-double of the weekend.

Davenport will now come home for their final five matches of the regular season that starts on Wednesday against Lourdes University in WHAC contest. First serve is set for 7 p.m. at the Student Center.
 
Post-Match Notes
Davenport is now 4-5 against NAIA Top-25 foes this season…This was the second meeting ever between DU and Bellevue and the series is now tied at 1-1…Amber Getty now has 10 matches this season in which she has posted a double-double in assists and digs…
