GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After moving up one spot in the national poll on Tuesday night, the No. 22 ranked volleyball team made quick work of visiting Lourdes University as they defeated them 3-0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-21). The win starts a five match home stand as the Panthers will take on Bethel College (Ind.) on Thursday at 7 p.m. Davenport improves to 27-9 on the year and 9-1 in WHAC play.

Davenport received a very balanced attack on Wednesday night as they picked up win number nine in league play with a 3-0 win over the Gray Wolves. Nicole Chase led the offense with nine kills while four other players finished with at least four kills. Lexie Spetoskey led the defense with 11 digs while Amber Getty was tops with 26 assists. Davenport, as a team finished with 12.0 team blocks highlighted by 20 assist blocks.

The opening set was the closest of the three as Lourdes rebounded from a 16-11 deficit to take a 18-17 lead but the Panthers ran off eight of the final 11 points to win 25-21. The run was started by a kill from Nicole Chase and finished with a block from Olivia DenHartigh and Hannah Stone.

Set two saw Davenport take a 9-6 lead early and turn it into a 25-14 win while the third was finished off by two different spurts of at least five points at a time to sweep the match.

Davenport will return to the Student Center on Thursday night when they host Bethel College (Ind.) at 7 p.m.

Davenport is now a perfect 6-0 against Lourdes all-time and they have swept the Gray Wolves in three of those matches…Over the past three seasons, head coach Megan Lenhart and her teams are 25-2 in the Student Center
