GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The road to the NAIA National Tournament continues on Tuesday for the No. 19 ranked Men's Soccer team as they will host one of two Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) semi-final matchups at 7 p.m. vs. Madonna University. DU is the top overall seed in the conference and will host the No. 4 seed Madonna with the winner moving on to Friday's championship match. The game will be broadcast live on the Davenport Athletics Network.

Scouting Madonna – 8-5-4, 5-2-3 WHAC– Head coach Mark Zathey (1st season)
The Crusaders are the fourth seed in the conference tournament and are under first year head coach Mark Zathey. Madonna got to the semifinal round thanks to a 2-0 shutout of Cornerstone last Saturday as Abdul Ibrahim posted both goals in the victory. Defensively, the Crusaders have a solid keeper in Marcel Schmid who was honored as the defensive player of the week in the WHAC on October 28.
Tournament Title Hunters
Davenport, winners of the 2005 and 2010 WHAC Tournament titles, have appeared in four championship matches and have posted a 2-2 mark. DU also appeared in the title game in 2007 (2-0 loss to Aquinas) and 2009 (2-0 loss to Indiana Tech).
Around the WHAC
The conference tournament is down to four teams as all of the top seeds moved on to the semi-final round. Davenport defeated Concordia 5-3, UNOH bested UM-Dearborn 6-0, Aquinas defeated Marygrove 3-1 and Madonna topped Cornerstone 2-0.
Last time vs. Madonna
Davenport and Madonna met once during the regular season on September 28 with the Panthers posting a 4-1 victory in Livonia. The Crusaders struck first but then DU rattled off four straight to post the three-goal win. Scoring for DU was Dzenan Catic (2) as well as TJ Ifaturoti and Jai Maw. Goalkeeper Mirza Harambasic posted three saves on the day for the win.
