Scouting Lourdes – 19-11, 5-6 WHAC – Head coach Greg Reitz (4th season)
Head coach Greg Reitz has his No 7 seeded Gray Wolves in the quarterfinals yet again and will meet Davenport for the second straight season in that round. Lourdes got to this point thanks to a 3-0 sweep of No. 10 seed Marygrove on Wednesday night in Ohio as they were led by Angie Pagan-Perez who finished with a double-double of 14 kills and 11 digs. The team set a new school record for attack attempts (174) in the match and will be anchored on defense by libero Michi Jimenez who finished with 31 digs in the win. Lourdes is 19-11 entering the match on Friday at 4:45 at Madonna.

All-WHAC Honors
Davenport was well represented on the All-WHAC teams that were released this week as they placed four on the First Team, one on Honorable Mention, three on Academic and one on each of the Freshman and Champions of Character Teams. Nicole Chase repeated as a First Team selection and she was joined by Amber Getty, Hannah Stone and Olivia DenHartigh and making the HM squad was Marcey DeHaan. Chase was also placed on the Academic Team along with Stone and Lexie Spetoskey. DenHartigh made the All-Freshman Team while Spetoskey was the champions of character representative.

Nearing .500 as a Program
Davenport University started their volleyball program in 2006 and since that season in which they went 0-34, they have been crawling back towards the .500 mark. DU started the 2013 season 25 games below .500 but now are just three as they have gone 31-9 so far.

WHAC Tournament History
Davenport will be gunning to make its second straight appearance in the WHAC Championship match after reaching that round last year before falling to Madonna University. DU is just 3-6 all-time in the WHAC tourney and two of those wins came last season by beating Lourdes and Indiana Tech.
