GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The next time the Davenport Volleyball team will take the court will be on Wednesday at home against rival and No. 21 ranked Cornerstone but before that they had to take care of business on Saturday as they posted two wins over Spring Arbor and St. Francis (Ind.). DU swept SAU 25-12, 25-15, 25-15 in the opener and finished the day with a 3-1 victory over St. Francis (25-14, 19-25, 25-12, 25-12). Davenport improves to 30-9 overall and will host the Golden Eagles on Wednesday at 7 p.m.

Match 1 – Davenport 3, Spring Arbor 0 (25-12, 25-15, 25-15)
The Panthers opened the day with an impressive sweep of the visiting Cougars and after a slow start to the first set, DU poured it on for the easy win. The win improved Davenport to 7-0 vs. teams from the Crossroads League this year and it came behind a stout defense that limited the Cougars to a .024 hitting percentage while DU hit .370 themselves.

Leading the offensive attack for the Panthers was freshman Olivia DenHartigh with 13 kills while fellow newcomer Maddy Cassleman chipped in with nine and Hannah Stone and Nicole Chase seven each. DU finished with 6.0 team blocks led by Hannah Stone's 2.5.

Match 2 – Davenport 4, Saint Francis (Ind.) 1 (25-14, 19-25, 25-12, 25-12)
Davenport completed their season sweep of their Crossroads League foes with a relatively easy 4-set win over the Cougars of St. Francis. Davenport dominated other than falling in the second set as they had 10 hitting errors and four service errors to allow USF to take a set. In the three wins, DU posted 45 kills compared to only 12 errors.

Hannah Stone was tops on the team with 14 kills while Molly Lameyer joined her in double-figures with 10. Amber Getty dished out 43 assists while posting five kills and nine digs. Olivia DenHartigh was tops with 12 digs for the Panthers as they posted their 30th win of the year which marks the second straight year they have done so.

The Panthers will host No. 21 ranked Cornerstone on Wednesday in the regular season finale at 7 p.m. The winner will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming WHAC Tournament that starts on November 15 with the quarterfinals at Madonna University.
