GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The final match of the regular season pits two rivals against each other with a lot on the line as Davenport will host Cornerstone on Wednesday night at the Student Center. Gene Halbert will have the call live on the Davenport Athletics Network (DAN) if you cannot make it out to DU on Wednesday night.

Scouting Cornerstone – 25-9, 9-1 WHAC – Head coach Ryan Campbell (5th season)
Cornerstone comes into the week with the second longest winning streak in the WHAC as they have won 15 matches in a row and have not lost since the month of September. Head coach Ryan Campbell and his team started the season just 2-7 after traveling to Utah and California but have gone 23-2 since with their only two losses to #4 Madonna and Trinity Christian. Cailie Johnson leads the attack for coach Campbell as the junior middle-hitter has been named the WHAC Player of the Week four times and also has an NAIA National Player of the Week accolade as well.

Recent Success vs. Cornerstone

Davenport, which started its volleyball program in 2006, started its history against Cornerstone by dropping its first six matches and then after one win, lost the next four. Recently however, since head coach Megan Lenhart came on board, the Panthers have won three of the five meetings including a pair of wins on the road. Lenhart is 1-1 against CU at the Student Center.

Going Streaking

Cornerstone and Davenport both enter on winning streaks so one of those will come to an end as the Golden Eagles have won 15 matches in a row while the Panthers have won their last five overall. Since the turn to the month of September, DU is 20-4 and CU is 23-2.
