Scouting Bellevue – 8-2 (0-0 MCAC) – Head coach Shane Paben (6th Year)
Sixth year head coach Shane Paben and the Bruins are a fixture at the NAIA National Tournament and in the Top-25 rankings and this year looks no different as they are off to an 8-2 start and are riding a four-game winning streak heading into Saturday's contest. The only two losses so far are a 2-point setback to defending national runner-up William Penn and a 5-point setback to Hastings who is currently ranked No. 6 in the Top-25 poll. Taylor Young leads the Bruins in scoring at 14.8 points per game and he is joined in double-figures by Lee Ames at 13.3 and Given Kalipinde at 12.9. The Bruins are a good shooting team from the line (ranked No. 5 in the country at 76.3%) and from behind the arc (No. 13 at 38.6%).

Other Teams in Chicago
There will be a total of eight teams in the Midwest Tournament and the other half of Davenport's bracket will feature a familiar foe in Aquinas College as the Saints will meet Viterbo University (Wis.) on Saturday night after DU faces Bellevue. The four other teams feature the host Cougars vs. Goshen College (Ind.) and No. 21 Saint Ambrose (Iowa) vs. No. 25 Lourdes.

In-Season Tournament Success
Since Paddock became the coach, DU has claimed eight regular season tournament titles and holds a 18-4 overall record in those contests. DU has won its last six tournaments which include the Panther Tip-off in 2013-14, Embry Riddle in 2012-13, the Panther Tip-off and Washington & Jefferson in 2011-12, the Panther Tip-off and Warner in 2010-11.

Last time in Illinois
The last time the Davenport men's basketball program played a game in Illinois was in 2011-12 when they picked up an 89-83 win at St. Francis (Ill.). The win came on the heels of a long trip out to New York.
