Scouting Concordia – 13-15, 11-9 WHAC – Head coach Matt Distelrath
Concordia comes into the final week of the regular season fighting for their playoff positioning as they are currently tied for 6th as the top-8 teams make the WHAC Tournament from February 21-26. The Cardinals, under the direction of first-year head coach Matt Distelrath, posted a 66-63 win the last time these two teams met back on January 9 in Ann Arbor and the victory was part of a 4-game winning streak for the Cards. Since then however, CUAA is just 3-6. John Schaeffer continues to lead the way for Concordia as he averages 16.2 points per game and is followed by reigning WHAC player of the week Josh Fugate at 13.5. Concordia, which is two games up on Aquinas for the final playoff spot, concludes the season on Saturday when they host Lawrence Tech.
Davenport enters the matchup with Concordia looking to not only avenge the early season loss but also clinch at least a share of their second straight WHAC Championship. The Panthers currently hold a one game lead on both Lourdes and Madonna with two games remaining. DU will wrap up its regular season on Saturday at Indiana Tech and a win in both would mean home court advantage for the WHAC Tournament from February 21-26
