NAIA Top-25 Poll
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After 13 matches to open the season, the volleyball team now turns their attention to league action as they open Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) play on Wednesday when they travel to Lawrence Tech. Davenport and LTU will face off in one of five opening night matches across the league as the race for the first automatic berth to the NAIA National Tournament begins. Match time in Southfield is set for 7 p.m.

Scouting Lawrence Tech (Mich.) – 3-6, 0-0 WHAC – Head coach Larry Wyatt (3rd season)
The third year program under head coach Larry Wyatt has made some strides as they enter the week with a 3-6 record after winning just 15 matches a year ago and five the first year. LTU has been led by a balanced offense that has outside hitter Mary Armstrong on top with 91 kills. Closely behind her is Kelsey Haener with 84 and Jessica Franks with 61. The Blue Devils have featured a 6-2 offense with Josie Queary leading the way with 175 assists. Defensively, LTU is anchored by their libero Cassidy Porta with 136 digs.
Statistical Leaders
Davenport continues to be among the leaders on offense and defense as a team and individually. The team ranks No. 9 in Total Kills (606), No. 13 in Total Assists (551) and No. 27 in Total Blocks (89.0) and Service Aces (77). Individually,
Amber Getty is ninth in the country in total assists (465) while
Hannah Stone ranks No. 39 in Total Blocks (39.0) and No. 42 in Hitting Percentage (.333)
Around the WHAC
Madonna University (13-0) and UNOH (6-1) have the best records after three full weeks of play and exactly half of the teams in the WHAC are above .500 on the season. 10 teams begin conference play on Wednesday and the one to watch out for is Lourdes at Madonna. The Gray Wolves are third in the conference in wins currently.
Success vs. Ranked Foes
Davenport, which has three wins already against Top-25 teams has seen a majority of its schedule remain or even move up as the first regular season poll was released on Tuesday. DU has played #1 Concordia, #9 Westmont, #19 Vanguard, #20 Indiana Wesleyan and #22 The Masters. Cal State San Marcos is the first team in receiving votes and DU is the third team listed.
