ADRIAN, Mich. – With a big weekend ahead of them down at Olivet Nazarene, the Davenport Volleyball team swept Siena Heights 3-0 on the road on Wednesday night 25-14, 25-19, 25-19. The Panthers improve to 10-5 on the year and 2-0 in league action as they now will head to Illinois for the Holiday Inn Express Classic. DU will face Saint Ambrose and Olivet Nazarene on Friday followed by Viterbo and Grand View on Saturday.

After running off eight of the first 10 points of the opening set, the Panthers cruised to a 25-14 win finished off by a kill from Maddy Cassleman. Davenport continued their winning ways in the second and third sets winning by identical 25-19 scores.

Stat leaders for the Panthers included Nicole Chase with 11 kills, Amber Getty with 35 assists and Maddy Cassleman with eight digs. The team posted a season-best .438 hitting percentage while the defense posted 7.0 blocks highlighted by 2.0 from Molly Lameyer.

Davenport will now travel to Bourbannais, Ill. this weekend for the Holiday Inn Express Classic hosted by Olivet Nazarene. DU will open play Friday against Saint Ambrose and follow with a match against the host Tigers. Saturday will see the Panthers play No. 17 Viterbo (Wis.) in the NAIA Match of the Week at 11 a.m. as well as a second match against Grand View (Iowa)

Davenport improves to 11-2 all-time against the Saints having won the last 11 matches…DU is one of four teams still unbeaten after two league matches along with Madonna, UNOH and Cornerstone…This weekend, Davenport will play two more teams either ranked or receiving votes, bringing their total to eight through their first 19 matches
