GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – In their first home match of the season, the Davenport Volleyball team wasted little time improving their league mark to 3-0 and overall record to 14-6 as they dismissed visiting UM-Dearborn in straight sets (25-13, 25-9, 25-14). Head coach Megan Lenhart and her team will look to keep the conference mark perfect when they head to Ann Arbor on Friday for a 7 p.m. contest against Concordia University.
Olivia DenHartigh led all players with 15 kills while four others finished with at least four kills as the Lady Panthers opened their home schedule with a convincing league win. Amber Getty and Ally Ruhlman ran the offense and combined for 30 assists while three players finished in double-digit digs led by DenHartigh's 11.
The Wolverines started strong in the opening set and led the Panthers 12-9 but DU recovered and did it quickly as they ran off 16 of the final 17 points to win 25-13. That momentum continued into the second as Davenport raced out to a 10-1 lead and never looked back winning 25-9.
The final set saw Ruhlman come in and lead the offense to its best production of the night posting 18 kills on 35 attempts with just five errors. DU hit .371 in the third and .265 for the match.
Danielle Campbell and Nia Martin led the Wolverines with four kills each.
Davenport will travel to Ann Arbor on Friday for a 7 p.m. start against Concordia University.
