Scouting Rochester College (Mich.) – 10-5, 0-0 A.I.I. – Head coach David Crump (9th season)
Rochester College comes into the weekend having played the most matches of any of the five teams participating as the Warriors stand at 10-5 overall. Ninth year head coach David Crump and his team enter on an 8-match winning streak that saw the Warriors claim the USCAA Tip-Off Tournament hosted by Penn State-Greater Alleghany. The Warriors are a fixture on most of the WHAC school's schedules as they have a mid-week contest against No. 11 Madonna and then face the Crusaders again this weekend.
Scouting Westminster (Utah) – 3-6, 0-0 Frontier Conference – Head coach Kim Norman (9th season)
Westminster College makes the long trek from Utah to Michigan to compete this weekend and they enter looking to end a 6-match losing streak. The Griffins, under head coach Kim Norman, started the season off 3-0 which included a win against fellow WHAC competitor Cornerstone as well as regionally based Olivet Nazarene. Offensively, Alexis Aalona is the overwhelming leader as junior outside hitter has a team leading 120 kills which is almost double the second person on the team.
Scouting Illinois Tech – 4-4, 0-0 CCAC – Head Coach Jacqui Gatt (3rd season)
The Scarlet Hawks enter the Julie Martin Memorial Classic with a .500 record after playing in a pair of tournaments at UM-Dearborn and College of Coastal Georgia. Head coach Jacqui Gatt returns to her old stomping grounds as she graduated from Madonna University and was an All-American for the Crusaders. Illinois Tech has been led on offense by the balanced attack of Taylor Duman (82 kills) and Kate Kendall (71 kills). Tech will begin CCAC play next week with matches against Saint Xavier and Cardinal Stritch.
Scouting Roosevelt University – 6-0, 0-0 CCAC – Head Coach Kelly Fitzgerald (3rd Season)
The Lakers come in with the best overall record other than the host Crusaders as they are currently 6-0 after winning their own quad with Goshen and Rochester as well as the Saint Xavier-Trinity Christian Crossover. Third year head coach Kelly Fitzgerald has a relatively young lineup that features just one senior and five juniors as the remaining 11 players are underclassmen. Through their first four matches, Roosevelt was led on offense by Valerie Cutrone with 56 kills and Vanesa Owusu with 44.
