Scouting Aquinas – 6-9 (3-4 WHAC) – Head coach Dave Hammer (11th Year)
11th year head coach Dave Hammer has a very experienced group back this year led by seniors Brett Pfahler and Austin Semple. The duo has also been helped be transfers Kolin Kazen from Albion College and a core of guards in Jake Bullock and Anthony Williams. The Saints have won 3 of their last 5 overall after starting 3-6 on the season. Kazen is leading the squad at 12.3 points per game while Bullock is second at 12.0. The Saints have built their program on the defensive end of the floor and are giving up just 69.5 points per game.

Renewing a Rivalry with Aquinas
The cross-town foe Saints dominated the early part of the rivalry but since DU head coach Burt Paddock has been on board, it has been a different story. AQ leads the overall series 16-8 but since the 2008-09 season, the Panthers have won 8 of the 12 matchups including all but one of them at Aquinas. Paddock's teams have never lost a game at the new Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center.

Last Year vs. Aquinas
DU went 2-1 against the Saints last year including a 72-46 win over AQ in their building and then a 62-57 victory in the first round of the WHAC Tournament. AQ did post an overtime win earlier in the season at Davenport.

A Record that could be Much Different
Although Aquinas will bring a 6-9 record into Saturday's contest, it is one that could be much better as the Saints have dropped many close contests. AQ has six losses by less than 10 points including three by just two points. Two of those 2-point setbacks have come at home against UNOH and Lourdes.
