GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Davenport opened the calendar year with a big 82-49 win over Aquinas on Saturday and will now play their first home game of 2014 and just their third since the beginning of December when they welcome Concordia University on Wednesday at 8 p.m. Head coach Burt Paddock and the Panthers are 13-3 overall and 6-2 in league play while the Cardinals are 6-9 overall and 4-5 in the WHAC. Rick Berkey will have the call live on the DAN shortly following the women's contest.

Scouting Concordia – 6-9 (4-5 WHAC) – Head coach Ricky Yahn (1st Year)
First year head coach Ricky Yahn has a very experienced group led by senior sharp-shooter John Schaeffer who is leading the team in scoring at 15.3 points per game. Just behind him is fellow guard Josh Fugate at 14.5 points and together the duo has connected on 82 triples on the season. As a team, CUAA averages 70.6 points per game while giving up 76.0. The Cardinals rank 34th in the NAIA in 3-pointers made per game (7.6) while Schaeffer is 19th at 3.0 per game.
Last Year vs. Concordia
Davenport split a pair of meetings against the Cardinals last season as they each held home court advantage. CUAA won 66-63 in Ann Arbor and DU won 68-56 at the Student Center.
New Look on Cardinal Sideline
The Cardinals have a new look on the sideline under first year head coach Ricky Yahn who came to Ann Arbor from Longwood University where he was an assistant coach
One Tough Home Defeat
The Cardinals, who own one of only 11 wins by an opponent ever at the Student Center, still have the highest amount of points by a team other than DU as they defeated the Panthers 97-80 on December 11, 2010.
