GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – James Wood and his men's rugby team stays home this weekend as they continue their difficult fall schedule and host no. 12 Wheeling Jesuit. The Panthers stand at 3-3 on the season so far, and certainly have their mind set on going above .500 this weekend. Kickoff between the Panthers and Cardinals is set for 3 p.m. on the Turf Field.

The Panthers
 
After suffering their biggest margin of defeat last Friday on Homecoming night, the Panthers look to rebound and come out with their first home win for the season. Davenport stands at 3-3 on the season, and was unable to record a try last weekend as they fell to cross-country rival Arkansas State 49-12. JP Eloff was the only player responsible for Davenport points, as he was 4-5 in penalty kicks.
 
The Panthers have not found a way to get it done on the Turf Field, as they sit with a 0-2 home record with losses coming to the University of Western Ontario and Arkansas State. The Panthers have been outscored 26-76 in those two games, with only recording two tries in that span.
 
Scouting Wheeling Jesuit
 
Wheeling Jesuit comes into this weekend ranked no. 12 in the USA Rugby polls, just three spots behind Davenport. The Cardinals' record are 4-2, and have won three out of their last four games. This will only be the second time the Cardinals have traveled out of Wheeling, W. VA. to play a game this season, and they will travel to Penn State next Saturday to take on the Kittany Lions.
 
Davenport will hit the road the following weekend as they take on conference-rival Lindenwood University for their last game of the fall regular season. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. Following that game, the Panthers will have a month off to prepare for a 7s play tournament at Arkansas State on Novemeber 22-23.
