First Ever MeetingÂ
This is the first ever meeting between Davenport and John Carroll. This season, the Panthers and Blue Streaks have a few common opponents with John Carroll already facing one in Ohio. John Carroll is also facing a few GLCHL teams this year in Michigan-Dearborn, Eastern Michigan and Kent State. Davenport and John Carroll will also face non-conference opponents in Rochester and Buffalo.
Â
GLCHL OutlookÂ
After sweeping Davenport last weekend, Western Michigan sits atop the GLCHL standings with a 4-0 record. Adrian and Oakland are just behind them sitting at 2-0 in the conference. Michigan-Dearborn split with Kent State last week, to move the Wolverines at 1-1 and the Golden Flashes are now 1-3 in the GLCHL. Davenport and Eastern Michigan are still looking for their first two conference wins.
Â
ACHA RankingsÂ
The first regular season rankings that were released last Friday did not see much change from the preseason poll, as all the teams stayed in the same spot except for Illinois and Lindenwood switching between 15th and 16th. The second regular season rankings will be released Friday, October 3. This season there will be six conferences that receive automatic bids with the WCHL receiving one this year. John Carroll has already locked up their spot to nationals with the host bid and sits at 23 in the rankings.
