DETROIT, Mich. – Tyler Fischer recorded his second multi-goal performance in as many matches, Dzenan Catic copied him as well along with extending his scoring streak to eight matches, and Davenport's second-ranked men's soccer team earned its 10^th win of the 2014 campaign with a 5-2 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference win at Marygrove Saturday.
 
TJ Ifaturoti also tallied a goal for the Panthers (10-1-0, 3-0-0 WHAC) while being credited an assist along with Fischer, Catic, Jacob Love and Lito Esquivel.
 
Although the Mustangs (3-8-0, 2-1-0 WHAC) held a 17-10 shooting advantage, the Panthers made the shot that counted the most. Catic got Davenport on the board four minutes into the contest when Esquivel made a clean pass to the nation's leading scorer (19) inside the box to set up the shot to the right side of the goal. Fischer put the Panthers ahead 2-0 four minutes later when his strike from 20 yards out beat Marygrove keeper Ryan Plonka's legs.
 
Catic's attempt for his second goal of the afternoon was deflected but Ifaturoti tapped the rebound into the open net to build a 3-0 lead in the 25^th minute.
 
Fischer's second goal of the day came at 62:06. Ifaturoti delivered a pass into the box to redshirt senior where his shot to the wide post beat Plonka. Catic followed with his multi-goal outing at 66:41. Fischer found Catic inside the goal box and the junior easily slotted the ball into the goal five yards out.
 
Marygrove's two goals in the match came in the 75^th and 90^th minutes.
 
Davenport has the weekdays off to prepare for Indiana Tech, which will visit DU Turf Field Saturday at 7 p.m.
