GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – After a come from behind win on Saturday against Northwestern Ohio, for the Davenport men's basketball team, the Panthers will be back in action when they head down the Beltline to face Aquinas on Wednesday night. Davenport will look to continue their hot start to the season, as they are 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the WHAC. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday night at the Sturrus Sports and Fitness Center, and
Rick Berkey will have the call on the DAN.

Live Audio A Quick Look at Aquinas – 3-2, 1-0 WHAC – Head Coach Dave HammerAquinas enters the matchup with a 3-2 overall record and is 1-0 in WHAC. After starting WHAC play with a win over Concordia, the Saints traveled to Kalamazoo, Mich., to face NCAA DI opponent Western Michigan, where Aquinas dropped their second game of the year 87-57. Leading Aquinas in scoring is Anthony Williams as he averages 14.2 point per game. Williams is the only played on the Saints roster to have started all five games. Jake Bullock is the only player on Aquinas to average double figures with 12.4 points per game. As a team the Saints score an average of 68.6 points per game.
The Last Time They MetThe last time Davenport and Aquinas faced each other was on February 8th last season at the DU Student Center. In the game, Davenport jumped out to 13 point lead at halftime, and in the second half the Panthers increased their lead to as many as 21 points, but the Saints hit a few late buckets to make the final score 77-64.
Dominez Burnett led all scorers with 24 points, and former Panther
JaVontae Ford had 22 points in the game and was 9-for-13 from the field.
Panthers vs. SaintsIn the all-time series between the Panthers and the Saints, Aquinas leads the series 16-10. Since Davenport started their men's basketball program in 2003, Aquinas won the first 13 matchups between the two teams before Davenport won their first meeting on February 4, 2009 with a 76-61 win. Since coach Paddock has taken over the Davenport men's basketball program the Panthers are 10-4 against the Saints and have won eight of their last nine matchups and won the last four.
