Bench Scores 62 Points to Lead No. 4 Women’s Basketball to Sixth Win

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Alex Law had 16 points for a season-best to lead a No. 4 Davenport women's basketball team's bench that scored 62 as the Panthers lead from start to finish to post an 88-62 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest over Indiana Tech Tuesday night.

Freshman Emily Severn also reached double figures for the first time in her young career, tallying 12 points including two 3-pointers.

All five of the Panthers (6-0, 4-0 WHAC) starters - Kelly Dineen, Kayleigh VanKeulen, Kia Frazier, Linnea Brandholm and Daina Grazulis - had a quiet day on the floor, combining for 24 points. Frazier had six points along with four steals and assists each.

The Panthers streak of shooting 50 percent or higher came to an end at a school-record four-games after combining for a 49 percentile.

Despite being short-staffed with seven earning playing time, Indiana Tech (3-6, 3-2 WHAC) out-rebounded the Panthers 40-35 and compiled a 35 shooting percentage. Alexjandra Lopez finished with 17 points, Shallante Clements and Baylee Rinehart each had 13.

Davenport quickly jumped to an 11-0 lead four minutes into the contest. Molly Babbs had five points during the run to lead the pack.

A 3-point basket by Brandholm near the buzzer gave Davenport its largest lead 54-20 at halftime. Alex Law had the hot hands after shooting 5-for-7 from the floor, including two 3s, for 13 points. Stokes was a perfect 4-for-4 and made her only free throw for nine points.

Following a brief Thanksgiving break, the Panthers leave the city limits for the first time this season as they head to Chicago to face Saint Francis (Ill.) Saturday at 8 p.m. EST.
