GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport men's basketball team will open their 2014-15 campaign against local NCCAA squad Grace Bible College. The Panthers will play their first game at Grace Bible since December 22, 2008, which was the Tigers last win in the head-to-head series between the two team. Davenport will tip off their season on Tuesday night in Wyoming, Mich. at 7 p.m., and fans can listen to the game live on the DAN with

The DAN A Quick Look at Grace Bible – 0-3 – Head Coach Gary BaileyGrace Bible comes into the matchup already playing three games against NAIA teams. Grace Bible started their season with a loss on the road to NAIA DI powerhouse University of Pikeville. The Tigers then face two NAIA DII opponents in Mount Vernon Nazarene and local WHAC school Cornerstone. Grace Bible lost both games to drop to 0-3 on the year. In the Tigers last game against the Golden Eagles, Travis Rader led the team with 13 points and eight rebounds, and center Bernard Smith finished the game with 12 points and seven rebounds.
Panthers vs. TigersDavenport and Grace Bible have met 17 times starting back in 2004 and Davenport holds a series lead of 11-6. The Panthers have won the last six meetings, and the last time Grace Bible won was on December 12, 2008 at home by the score of 68-65.
The Last Time They MetIn the last meeting between Davenport and Grace Bible, Davenport was able to win going away. The Panthers put up their high point total of the season scoring 110 in the game last season. DU made a season high 45 field goals in the game en route to a 110-58 victory.

JaVontae Ford, chipped in with 21 points.
John McCloud had eight rebounds in game and
Nick Gamble had seven assists, both led the team in those stats.
