GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport D1 hockey team will have a home-and-home series against Rochester College this weekend. Rochester is in their second season of as an ACHA D1 program. In their inaugural season last year, the Warriors went 15-17-0-3. The first game of the home-and-home series will take place on Friday at 7:15 p.m. in Rochester Hills, Mich.

Scouting RochesterÂ
The second year program comes into the weekend with an 8-4-0-2 record and is currently 21st in the ACHA. The Warriors were off last weekend, but in their last weekend series against Kent State, Rochester split the series as both teams won on their home ice. Brock Malatches and Joshua Botimer lead the team in scoring as they both have put up 15 points this season. In goal, Zakk Olvin has appeared in 11 games, posting a .929 save percentage and a 2.58 goals against average.

The PanthersÂ
Last weekend, the Davenport offense came alive scoring 12 goals in the two as the split against rival Oakland in the first two games of the Good Luck DUck series.
Kody Polin and
Jordan Simmonds had a big weekend as they combined for seven goals and three assists, Simmonds now leads the team in points with 12.
Luke McCarthy is the second leading scorer on the team with nine points.
Matt Kaludis has played in net for seven of first nine games of the season. Kaludis has a .862 save percentage and a 3.63 goals against average.

GLCHL OutlookÂ
Adrian received their first blemish on their record as they lost in overtime to Michigan-Dearborn, and the Wolverines still sit in third place in the conference behind Adrian and Western Michigan. Oakland is tied with Kent State in fourth place, and Davenport sits in sixth place just ahead of Eastern Michigan, who rounds out the conference.

ACHA RankingsÂ
In the second week of the computer rankings for the ACHA National Rankings, the rankings seen a lot more movement as Lindenwood jumped from 12th to fourth, Oklahoma moved back into the top ten as they now sit at sixth, and Iowa State also moved back into to the top ten going from 24th to tenth. Davenport dropped from 15th to 17th after the loss to Adrian, and the only two new teams in the rankings were Lebanon Valley and Navy.

The first ever meeting between the Panthers and Warriors will take place in Rochester Hills, Mich. on Friday at 7:15 p.m. The weekend series will then wrap up on Saturday evening at Patterson Ice Center at 5:30 p.m.
