No. 2 Panthers Run Past Wolverines to Earn 100th Student Center Win

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The No. 2 Davenport women's basketball team reached a milestone Saturday afternoon at the Student Center. Daina Grazulis scored 15 points and added 10 rebounds for her fifth double-double, Sara Clancy had a career-high 14 points off the bench and the Panthers skipped by UM-Dearborn 101-46 for their 100th win in their gym.

While the Panthers' bench combined for 60 points, Brittany Johnson finished with 11 points and despite hitting only two 3-pointers, Alex Law reached double figures with 10 points. Molly Babbs went to the glass 10 times to set a new personal-best.

Davenport (10-0, 7-0 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference), which reached the century mark for the first time this season, combined 42-for-78 (53.8 percent) from the field while hitting nine from beyond the arc.

Grazulis jumped up front 7-0 within the first 42 seconds of the contest. Grazulis connected one free throw before Linnea Brandholm went back-to-back from 3-point range.

The Wolverines (2-11, 1-6 WHAC), which were held to a 31.8 shooting percentage, brought the lead down to within two several times before a 14-0 Davenport run led by Grazulis set the tone of the contest. The 6-foot-3 senior tallied half of the 14 points during the momentum.

Davenport led 46-24 at the half with Grazulis tallying 11 points and seven rebounds.

Courtney Teets led the effort for UM-Dearborn with 13 points and nine boards. Andrea Collins and Megan Swick both finished with 10.

The Panthers, who moved into the Student Center in 2008, are 100-4 in their gym and are currently running on a program-best 45-game win streak.

Before celebrating the holidays, Davenport will welcome the defending NAIA Division II champions Saint Francis (Ind.) to Grand Rapids Friday at 7 p.m. The Cougars are currently ranked eighth in the NAIA Top 25.
