GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Davenport D1 hockey team will travel to Chicago, Ill., to face Robert Morris (Ill.) in the final two games of the first semester. Last weekend the Panthers were able to split the weekend series against third-ranked Ohio. The weekend series between Davenport and Robert Morris (Ill.) will begin on Friday at the Edge Ice Arena for an 8:30 p.m. EST puck drop.

Scouting Robert Morris (Ill.)Â
The Eagles enter the weekend with a 19-3-0-1 record on the season and they were ranked eighth in the ACHA in the last rankings that were released. Last weekend, Robert Morris hit the road for two game series against Iowa State, were the Eagles won two games by a combined score of 5-3. Gavin Burbach leads the way for Robert Morris with 15 goals and a total of 32 points in his freshman season. Andy DiCristofaro has appeared in the most games in net for the Robert Morris to compile a 1.74 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.

The PanthersÂ
After dropping their first game against Ohio last weekend, the Panthers were able to rebound to salvage a weekend split against the Bobcats to push their record to 12-7-1-3. Leading the way for the Panthers has been
Kody Polin with 24 points, while
Jordan Simmonds and
Chris Eckler round out the Panther forwards with at least 20 points with 22 and 21 respectively. Clayton has started in the last two games for Davenport and he has put together a 5-3-0 record on the season to go along with a 2.46 goals against average and a .910 save percentage.

GLCHL OutlookÂ
Adrian still sits atop the conference standings with 41 points suffering just one regulation loss on the year, and Davenport has moved into a second place tie with Western Michigan as both teams have 28 points on the season. Michigan-Dearborn is just behind in fourth place with 27 points and Oakland sits in fourth place with 25 points on the season. Kent State is an 11-11-0-0 on the season and has 22 points, and Eastern Michigan rounds out the GLCHL with 12 points on the season.

ACHA RankingsÂ
The last set of the ACHA rankings did not see too much movement as all the teams in top ten stayed within the top ten. The only new team that moved into the ranking was West Virginia, who sits at 24 in the nation. Davenport slipped one spot in the first rankings of December as they went from 16th to 17th in the rankings. Other GLCHL foes that are in the top 25 rankings are; Adrian (5th), Michigan-Dearborn (19th), and Oakland (23rd). The Panthers opponents this weekend, Robert Morris, is ranked eighth in the ACHA rankings.
